Apply for a Scholarship

The John Stallworth Scholarship Fund is a merit scholarship endowment program, funded in 1988 in cooperation with John Stallworth, civic and business leaders, churches, industry, educational institutions, administrators, and friends of John Stallworth.

Because of diverse economic circumstances, many students are unable to attend and/or complete college and are denied the opportunity to develop their full potential. In recognition of this need, the John Stallworth Scholarship is awarded annually to deserving students at Alabama A&M University. The student must have a demonstrated ability to do satisfactory collegiate work.

The John Stallworth Foundation awards two types of academic scholarships based primarily on scholarship merit, financial need and evidence of leadership.

TYPE I Scholarship is granted for one academic year.
TYPE III Scholarship is payable for four years as long as the student maintains eligibility*.

The minimum scholarship award is $1,000 per year. In extreme cases, should a scholarship recipient require additional funding for educational related expenses (books, fees, housing, etc.) special consideration will be given for assistance upon receipt of appropriate documentation.

*If a Type III Scholarship recipient falls below the minimum grade point average of 3.30, recipient will be informed
that he/she is no longer eligible to receive scholarship assistance.
